In order to register to attend SEMC 2028, all participants (Authors and Non-Authors alike) must (i) submit a completed registration form, and (ii) remit the applicable registration fee. The registration fee will differ, depending on whether one is an Author of a paper or a Non-Author participant. The applicable rates are indicated on the registration form (see link below). The rates have been fixed in Euro, but local participants may make payment in equivalent South African Rands, while international participants have a choice of remitting the registration fee either in Euro (as indicated) or in equivalent US Dollars.
The registration fee will cover full access to the published SEMC 2028 Proceedings, attendance at all plenary and parallel sessions of the Conference, the Welcome Reception, the Conference Dinner, as well as lunches and refreshments throughout the Conference.
The final deadline for registration for attendance at the Conference is 31 May 2028 for Authors of papers, and 31 July 2028 for Non-Author participants. Early registration is encouraged for both Authors and Non-Authors; there is an early-bird discount for Authors and Non-Authors who register before 31 March 2028. To encourage participation by students, a reduced registration rate is offered to all fulltime research students who intend to attend the Conference and present a paper. To qualify for this rate, proof of full-time student status as at 1 June 2028 will be required.
Only papers of Authors who have registered will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Authors of papers will need to plan to register by 31 May 2028 in order to ensure that their papers are included in the published Proceedings. In this regard, a single registration will cover the publication of not more than 2 papers.
